Weekly Tip #2: Rice on hand

Do you eat a lot of rice?
Well I have a solution for you on how to keep rice on hand!
In my house rice is a staple of everyday meals, from lunchs, dinner to even dessert. Yes rice infused desserts. Being as yes rice may be one of those "STAY AWAY" foods after having the GBS, I find rice cooked even five minutes more than needed is easier to digest than noodles cooked any way.
So how do I keep rice fully cooked and on hand all the time? Well firstly I don't have a lot of time every day to cook rice for 30 minutes, so what I first do is on Sunday nights I like cook a large batch of PLAIN rice, meaning just rice and water, no butter (ew) or flavorings. And I will cook it throughly through then let it cool. THAT is the MOST important thing ever, is when you cook large batches of ANYTHING before you put it in the fridge or even the freezer it has to be cooled completely to room temp. Then what I do is section it off into quart size bags, normally ending up with 2-3 bags.. And it actually makes it easy for portion control because you can choose how much from the bag to reheat or add to your meal.
Just remember to cool, then put in the fridge.
